Andrew's Open House Part Two

Here are some more details from Andrew's open house...

We found these vintage paper straws from Bake It Pretty

We put together these sports themed centerpieces using piggy banks from Hobby Lobby and various 'Fluff'. We chose soccer and basketballs to represent the sports Andrew played throughout high school.

The banners were cut using a Cricut machine

Thats all for now

Andrew's Open House Part One

Andrew, the youngest of the three children, graduated just a few hours ago. The open house we threw for him was this past Friday evening at the Port Huron Yacht Club just minutes from our house. We have been members of the Yacht Club for several years and we practically grew up there. Chelsea and I also had our open houses at the Yacht Club.

We knew that we had to put our blogging to good use when we decided to create a dessert table for Andrew's party. After months of investigation and preparation this is what we came up with...

The homemade carmel corn was a big hit! We hand made the take-home bags using plain brown paper bags and printing the school's mascot on a full sheet of white label paper and cutting them down to size.

We also made, from scratch, sugar cookies, brownies and peanut butter cookies.

These homemade 'Smores' were also a big hit! Simply marshmallows dipped in chocolate and rolled in graham cracker crumbs.

More to come soon!

Enjoy the preview!

Welcome!

First of all, Welcome to our blog! We are new to blogging so bear with us as we work out the kinks...

Let us introduce ourselves:

I am Lindsey, a 21 year old student currently attending Grand Valley State University in Allendale Michigan. I am majoring in Therapeutic Recreation but have a passion for decorating, designing and anything pretty. I have inherited my perfectionism and attention to detail from my mom, Lynne, who will be blogging along side me. We work wonderfully together and feed off each others' creative insight. When I'm not planning something with my mom I enjoy listening to music, shopping and searching for new inspirational blogs.

My mom is Lynne, a 40 something Licensed Practical Nurse currently working with a local orthopedic surgeon. She was a (great) stay-at-home mom for twenty years before returning to work just last year. She was always the mom who brought the best dish to the school potluck and always had a special treat for my brother, sister and I after school. Our party planning days began when she put on teachers luncheons and other gatherings for the staff at our small catholic school.

Our family is completed by my dad, Steve, older sister, Chelsea and younger brother, Andrew. As a family, we enjoy sailing competitively and for pleasure, playing games and spending time with friends.

We are very excited to join the blogging world and to bring inspiration to others through our creative work.

And with that-the first post!
